Crédit Agricole S.A. has finalized its acquisition of Santander's 30.5% stake in CACEIS, securing full control of the asset servicing subsidiary. The transaction, first announced in December 2024, reinforces Crédit Agricole's position as a leading European player in custody and fund administration.
While the deal slightly impacts Crédit Agricole's CET1 ratio by 30 basis points, it aligns with the group's strategic focus on high-return businesses. Notably, the partnership between CACEIS and Santander remains intact, particularly for their Latin American joint venture.
